Steven D. Winston

Steven D. Winston, 63, of Norwich, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Steven was born in Johnson City to Robert Winston and Ivy Winters. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Linda Winston; his daughter and son in law, Rebecca and Michael Deuel; his grandson, Kristopher Deuel; his mother in law, Doris Brooks; many other family and friends as well as his canine companion, Luna.

Steven made his living as a machinist working for various companies in the area. He always took pride in his work and strived to do his best on all projects. Those who knew Steven will remember his friendliness and sense of humor and his ability to tell jokes, even ones that were a little too colorful for some listeners. Steven also loved spending time at his cottage on the lake, fishing or going fast in his speedboat. He also loved playing cards and was known as a “sandbagger”, he always took the time to enjoy all of life’s moments. Most of all, Steven loved his family and the time spent with them. His family and friends knew that they were welcome to stop by and share moments with him over a cup of coffee.

Friends of Steven are invited to celebrate his life at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich on Saturday, November 19th from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. There will be coffee and other refreshments available. Please bring a joke or a fish story to tell and casual attire is encouraged.
