She was born November 22, 1945 in New Berlin, the daughter of Robert and Evelyn (Collins) Foster. Growing up in Earlville, she graduated from Earlville High School. She lived in South New Berlin for six years, then Norwich, where she remained the rest of her life.
Susan worked for several local organizations, including Norwich-Eaton Pharmaceuticals, Lewis Engineering, and Norwich Shoe Company, before taking a job as a technician in the packaging department of Procter & Gamble, retiring in 2001.
After her years of work and prior to her illness, she participated in the lives of her grandchildren, was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Norwich, and kept in touch with her siblings. Susan persevered in the trials and tribulations known as life; learning what it takes to be an accepting, always honest person. She made great efforts in her endeavors, and paid attention to detail and took care where needed.
Susan is survived by her children and step-children: James Knapp, Stacy Glanville, Mark (Cindy) Graves, Timothy (Jenna) Graves, Steven (Peggy) Graves, and Lisa Graves; her grandchildren: Andrew and Sara Graves, Alexander Graves, Carlie Thomas Turk, Gabriel, Nicholas, Benjamin, and Chloe Glanville, and Joie and Zachary Graves; her great-grandchildren: Gabrielle, Lazarus, Brielle, Olivia, and Hadlee; her siblings: Ronald Foster, Sally (Sydney) Cooper, Judy (Edward) Brown, Gary (Vicky) Foster, and Cheryl (Justin) Sayles; as well as many special nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents: Robert and Evelyn Foster; her husband: Donald Graves; her first husband: Harry Knapp; her brother: Robert Foster; and her best friend: Trudy Brady.
A graveside service will be held in the spring in Mount Hope Cemetery, Norwich, at a date and time to be announced.
