Robert W. Tauber, Jr. of Hyde Park, formerly of Dedham, and Norwood, passed away at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, surrounded by the love of his family on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the age of 75.
Born in Norwood, Bob was the son of the late Robert W. Tauber and Muriel (Higgins), and Kenneth Reid. He was raised in East Dedham, attending the Quincy School, Dedham Junior High School, and was a graduate of Dedham High School with the class of 1967.

Bob was an avid collector of and dealer in sports memorabilia, baseball cards, comic books, rare coins, and antiques. He was a well-known presence as a vendor at many flea markets and collectible shows all over New England for many years. He was a lover of music, mainly progressive rock, heavy metal, and alternative music, attending many concerts over the years, and had an extensive collection of vinyl albums, tapes, and cd's. Bob was a great fan of all of the local sports teams, especially the New England Patriots and Boston Celtics. Bob and a group of his close lifelong friends got together on Sunday nights for their weekly card game - a tradition that has continued for over 50 years.
Bob was the beloved husband of 40 years of Marjorie A. (Clark) Tauber of Hyde Park, and the devoted father of Michael Tauber of Allston, and Eric Fay of Norwood and his partner Rebecca Bass of Jamaica Plain. He was the loving brother of Donna of Santa Fe, New Mexico and her late husband Thomas Lynes, Wayne Tauber and his wife Maryann of Middleboro, Linda and her husband Richard Marcos of Whitman, and Kenneth Reid and his wife Maria of Wells, Maine. He was the proud grandfather of Eric Fay Jr., USN of Annapolis, Maryland, Ronald Fay of Norton, and the uncle of Kelly Tauber-Lalli, Katie Favreau, Stacy Lynes, Kimberly Jones, Heather Sheehan, Jennifer Marcos, and Rhonda Perkins. He was the former husband of Nancy (Savini) Tobin of Norfolk. Bob is survived by many friends and colleagues.
