

The beloved Charlie Ruth Coleman was born on June 11, 1950 in Montgomery, Alabama, to Annie Ruth (Baker) McQueen and Charlie Anderson. She was Annie’s only child, and the bond they shared was truly special. Annie lovingly spoiled her “chocolate Babygirl.” As a single mother, Annie made the difficult decision to leave Alabama for better opportunities in Boston.
Shortly after moving to Boston, Ruthie met Frank Coleman at a nightclub. Ruthie Baker and Frank Coleman were married on January 12, 1967, and together they built a beautiful legacy of nine children, twenty-seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
Ruthie was called home on May 15, 2026. She leaves behind a loving legacy and is survived by 46 descendants whose lives were touched by her love, strength, kindness, and care.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held in the New Hope Baptist Church, 1450 River Street, Hyde Park on Friday, May 29, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11 o'clock Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 45 Fairview Avenue, Hyde Park. Funeral Arrangements are in the care of Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street, Norwood.
