

Eddington Ying-Teng Lee, a long-time resident of Norwood, Massachusetts, passed away on March 3, 2026, after a short illness at age 89.
Eddington “Edd” was born in Hong Kong in 1936 and grew up in Taiwan. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science from the National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan, he went on to complete a PhD degree in Nuclear Physics at The University of Massachusetts, Amherst. After retiring from a long, rewarding career at Digital Equipment Corporation, Edd found joy in volunteering at The Museum of Science in Boston for more than 20 years.
A life-long lover of classical music, Edd frequently attended numerous concerts in the Boston area and sang with the Dedham Choral Society for more than 30 years.
Eddington is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gloria Lee; son John Lee and Andrea Ng of Newton, Massachusetts; daughter Deanna Lee and Noah Loesberg of Brooklyn, New York; granddaughter, Stephanie Lee of Newton, Massachusetts; sister Hester Hwei-Shien Hahn of Tainan, Taiwan; and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and in-laws all over the world.
He was dearly loved and will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Immediate services are private. Arrangements are in the care of Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street, Norwood.
