

Frank Buckley was born in Brockton and grew up in West Roxbury.
Mr. Buckley proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member and past commander of VFW Post 5188 in Walpole and participated yearly in Memorial and Veterans Day commemorations. He was also involved in the VFW Voice of Democracy scholarship program at Walpole High School.
Frank was a Model A Ford enthusiast who belonged to several antique car clubs, including the Minuteman Model A Ford Club and the Model A Restorers Club of Massachusetts, the latter of which he was an incorporating member. A highlight of his participation was when he and his wife Dorothy were interviewed by the Today Show in June 1962 at the start of a Model A-only cross-country tour.
He fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming an aviator in 1978 by earning his private pilot's license. Frank logged many hours in his Cessna 150 airplane, flying throughout the northeast.
Frank retired from AT&T as a foreman after 40 years of dedicated service. After retirement, he pursued his hobbies and performed volunteer work at the Boylston Schul-Verein club.
He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Beazley) Buckley; loving father of Maureen Buckley of East Walpole, Bradford Buckley of Medford and his former wife Nora, Darlene Buckley and her husband Amir Manouchehrian of Renton, WA, and Bryan Buckley and his wife Nadine Robichaud of Ayer’s Cliff, Quebec; cherished grandfather of Caroline, Christopher, Gabriel, Sophia, and Viviane Buckley; devoted brother of Marjorie Putnam of Savannah, GA. He is also survived by a niece and a nephew.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 11th at 10:30am in the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rte 1A), Norwood. Interment with Military Honors in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, 3pm. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Sunday, February 10th from 2:00-6:00pm.
