

Janice A. Mahoney of Norwood and formerly of Franklin, passed away on Wednesday December 31, 2025 following a brief illness, she was 74.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Constance (Allen) Mahoney. Janice was raised in Glens Falls, NY and was a graduate of Glens Falls High School with the class of 1969. Janice earned her Associate's Degree from Dean Junior College, and for several years was a Resident Director at Jones Hall. She was a voracious reader, accomplished mixed media and textile artist, legendary cook, avid gardener, and former literacy volunteer at the Franklin Public Library. She also enjoyed many adventurous trips to Ireland and Cape Cod with her sister over the years. She had a fulfilling and well-rounded professional career in many different fields, most recently with MES Solutions in Norwood, MA.
Janice was the devoted mother of Timothy Verrochi and his wife Simone of Norwood, and Lara Verrochi of Boston. She was the treasured sister of Deby Artiglere of Wilmington NY and the late Dennis Mahoney. Janice was the proud, adoring grandmother of Lucas Verrochi of Norwood. She had a selfless nature, evidenced by her generosity and compassion to others. Making others happy- especially her family- was her greatest joy in life.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD on Wednesday January 7th from 4-7 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
