Koco Andoni

Koco steadfastly studied throughout his academic years to earn a medical degree from the University of Tirana and become a general physician. He served as a doctor to many in Albania during his 40-year career, striving to provide the best care for his patients, night and day. His impact in his community was positively heartwarming and felt by all. At the same time, he raised a family with his loving wife of 60 years, Ilektra. Upon arriving in the United States in 1999 with his family, Koco never lost his curious and studious nature and took on the challenge of becoming a US Citizen, continuously learning about the world and cultures around him. Sadly, Koco endured the loss of his daughter, Mirela, in 2006 but was surrounded by the support and love of his family to help him through this incredibly difficult time. Koco devoted the later years of his life to adoring his five grandchildren everyday as they grew from his doting love.

Beloved husband of Ilektra (Dervishi) Andoni. Loving father of Edmond Andoni and his wife Valentina of Wrentham and the late Mirela Andoni Thimjo. Cherished grandfather of Kosta, Ilektra, Filloreta, Teodor, and Aleksia Andoni. Devoted brother of Varvara Mandili of Albania.

Funeral services will be held on Friday February 23 at 11:00am in the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rte.1A), Norwood. Interment will follow the service in Gardens of Gethsemane Cemetery, West Roxbury. Visitation will be held on Thursday February 22 from 4:00-8:00pm in the funeral home.
