

Linden completed grades one through eight in the Emporia State University Grade School program, Emporia, Kansas. A gifted musician, Linden took private piano lessons for ten years, then continued with flute. Linden completed high school at Whitewater High School, Whitewater, Wisconsin, receiving many recognitions for their musical talents.
Linden earned a BA in Music, majoring in flute, at the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, graduating Summa Cum Laude. They then earned an MA in Performance Theory at New York University in New York City.
Among Linden’s musical talents, their voice has been described as having a peaceful quality, and their singing will be missed by many, particularly their Unitarian Universalist choirs.
Most of Linden’s professional life was spent working in the nonprofit sector. Linden was a warrior for justice. Their longing for justice ran deep. They volunteered countless hours at phone banks, going door to door, participating in gatherings and marching down streets.
Linden made an extended family from their friends; they were a prolific connector of people. Linden had an incredible presence and elegant manner and engaged people wholly. Their intelligence was palpable, and available without imposition or judgement. Linden had an astounding knowledge of plants, herbs, and spices, and their cooking skills were revered. They shared their expertise at sewing and fabric techniques, beading/jewelry making, crocheting, and the finery of burlesque, with many.
Linden is survived by their parents as well as their brothers Paul and Michael Fingerson.
Memorial services are to be held in the Spring of 2022 at the Unitarian Church in Sharon, MA and at the Fourth Unitarian Society in Mohegan Lake, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Linden’s memory to Freedom for All Americans.
