Marie V. Kelley

KELLEY, Marie V. (Homer), age 90, of Norwood, formerly of Dedham and Farmington ME, Monday Aug. 10, 2015. Born in Boston on Sept. 20, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Aloysius and Marie (Freitas) Homer. She was a 1942 graduate of Dedham High School. Marie married Thomas J. Kelley on Aug. 14, 1942 in Seabrook NH. Thomas died on June 2, 1996. Mrs. Kelley belonged to NAFE, Chapter 1872, Waterville, Old Ironside Chapter 1491 as an associate member, AARP of Wilton, Farmington Grange #12, Excelsior Pomona #5, and a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church of Farmington. She enjoyed bingo, making quilts, and loved being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her nine children and their spouses; Jean Willette and her husband Glenn of Temple ME, Thomas J. Kelley and his wife Jean of Cedartown GA, Robert Kelley and his wife Cindy of Braintree, John Kelley and his wife Patricia of Weymouth, Mary Schanz of Farmington ME, Betty Sparks and her husband Gary of Norwood, Therese Kane and her husband David of Mansfield, James Kelley and his wife Karen of Oakland ME, and Catherine Braley and her husband Michael of Hope MI; 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Marie was pre-deceased by one grandchild and one great-grandchild. She was the sister of Pearl Kiely of Duxbury, Barbara Hamel of Stoughton, Joanne Nelson of Readville, Joseph Homer of Wayland, and was pre-deceased by her four brothers and one sister. Funeral Saturday Aug. 22 at 10 AM from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St. (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington St. Norwood. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Visiting hours Friday 4 - 8.
