

Michael Joseph Teahan, age 95, of Norwood, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026. Born in Kilcummin, Co. Kerry, Ireland. He was the son of the late Patrick Teahan and Mary (O’Keefe) Teahan.
Michael emigrated to the United States in 1957 after living in Australia for 8 years. He worked many years in construction as a member of the Massachusetts Laborers Union, before ending his work career at MIT and Regis College in custodial services. He loved gardening, especially growing his tomatoes. In the 1950’s “Mickey” was a star footballer for the Kerry GAA team. In his later years he enjoyed watching them win championships from the states. In the 1960’s he played for the Kerry Football Club of Boston, winning 3 championships. Also, a long time member of the Irish Social Club of West Roxbury MA. He was most proud of his grandchildren. He was their number one fan at their numerous school and sports activities.
Michael was the beloved husband for 53 years of the late Marguerite T. (Moran) Teahan. Devoted father of Annemarie Chamberlain and her husband Paul of Norwood, Michael P. Teahan and his wife Alexis of Pflugerville, TX, and John W. Teahan of Norwood. Loving grandfather of Ryan and Alyssa Chamberlain, and Fiona and Brennan Teahan. Brother of the late Nancy Kenny and Patrick, Brendan and John Teahan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St. (Rt. 1A), Norwood, Friday, February 6, 2026, at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Norwood at 11:00AM. Visiting Hours in the Funeral Home on Thursday, February 5, 4-7 PM. Interment Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
