Peter J. Violette

VIOLETTE, Peter J. age 72, of Norwood, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025.

Born in Lake City, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Jean and Myra (Bushfield) Violette. Peter was a 1970 graduate of Lake City High School, and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in chemistry from Clemson University in 1974, remaining a lifelong ardent Clemson fan. He was a Manufacturing Engineer for Bayer and Siemens Healthineers, spending 40 years with the combined companies. Peter was a member for over 30 years of the First Congregational Church in Norwood, served as a deacon, and for many years along with his wife Mary Ann, was co-leader of the Bible Study Group. Peter enjoyed reading and was a lifelong learner. He will be remembered for his kind, gentle, and generous spirit, his sense of humor, and his resilience with his recent health issues.

Peter was the beloved husband of Mary Ann (Phillips) Violette of Norwood. He was the brother of Dolores and her husband William Yoke of Clarksburg, West Virginia, Mary of Charlotte, North Carolina and her late husband Keith Smith, David Violette and his wife Beth of Mooresville, North Carolina, William Violette and his husband Richard Swofford of Ormond Beach, Florida, and brother in-law of Dan Phillips of Shelby, North Carolina.

A Memorial Service will be held in the First Congregational Church in Norwood, 100 Winter Street, NORWOOD on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 2:00 PM, with a reception to follow. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
