

Sullivan, Timothy F. of Norwood, April 9, 2012. Devoted husband of 64 years to the late Anne L. (Knowlton). Loving father of Timothy F. Sullivan and his wife Christine of Franklin, Christopher P. Sullivan of Pittsfield, Anne Marie Moomey and her husband Michael of Mansfield, and their children Timothy, Andrew and Emily, and the late Stephen G. Sullivan. Also survived by eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, many friends, including Marion and Bill Turner and Deborah Attardo, and several nieces and nephews . Beloved brother of the late Marie Donaghue, Francis and James Sullivan. World War II Veteran serving in Coast Guard on LST 760, participated in battle of Iowa Jima. Dedicated member of the Dedham American Legion Post 18 for 45 years, served as Commander of Post 18 and Awarded Legionare of the year in 2003. Also held many post’s at the State Level of the Legion. Member of Post 18 Color Guard which travelled to Russia, with Late Dorothy Hill to “promote peace and good will on earth” Tim spent his life living the objectives set by the American Legion charter: ”to foster and perpetuate a one hundred per cent Americanism.” Funeral from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St., (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD, Tues. April 17 at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Norwood at 9 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home, Mon. April 16, 4-8 PM. Donations in memory of Tim may be made to Charlestown Veterans History Project, c/o B.
