William E. Wilds Jr.

Of Norwood, An Officer with the Dedham Police Department, passed away on Tuesday April 18, 2023 at age 55.

Born in Norwood, he was a son of the late William E. Wilds, Sr., and Marie (Varley). William attended local schools, and was a 1986 graduate of Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood. He went on to earn his Bachelors Degree from Stonehill College, and his Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from Western New England University.

William was the beloved husband of Jennifer (Brown) Wilds of Norwood. He was the devoted father of Jeffrey, Daniel, and Christopher Wilds, all of Norwood. William was the loving brother of Margaret Wilds of Dedham, Mary and her husband Bob Dietzel of Norfolk, Matthew Wilds of Needham, Patricia Wilds of Dedham, and the late Helen Wilds. He is survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Funeral from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street, (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD on Friday April 28, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington Street, Norwood at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, Jamaica Plain. Visiting Hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday April 27, 2023 from 3:00 -8:00 PM.
