Alice Reid Flumbaum

Alice Clark Reid Flumbaum of Parkville, MD, passed away on Friday, September 26 at the age of 86. She was born in Louisville, KY, the daughter of the late Barney C. and Audrey Spurr Reid. She was the cherished sister of the late Susan Spurr Reid. Survived by her husband of 64 years, Harry David Flumbaum, she was the loving mother of David Reid (Rachelle Cummins) Flumbaum, and the late Rebecca Flumbaum Lowery, and mother-in-law of Howard (Teresa) Lowery. She adored her grandsons Reid Jaymes Flumbaum and Sidney Jacob Flumbaum. She is survived by her cousins, nieces, and nephew.

Upon graduation from Fern Creek High School in Louisville, KY, Alice went to Georgetown College earning a Bachelor of Science. Having worked in several teaching and administrative roles, Alice spent the last 22 years of her career at The Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute. Alice’s ministries included leading Girls in Action, teaching Bible studies, and playing music, especially organ and piano for worship and choirs.

A visitation will be held at Mountain Christian Church Cook Auditorium on Saturday, October 18 at 10:30 AM followed by a memorial service in the same location at 11 AM.
