On March 28, 2024, Anita P. Massey, passed away. Anita is the beloved wife of the late J. Thomas Massey; devoted mother of Blane T. Massey and wife Kathleen and Laura Vanvoorhis; loving grandmother of Ryan and wife Kristin, Tyler and wife Amy, and Evan and wife Kayla; dear sister of Carol Ann Parks. Also survived by 4 great-grandchildren and her cousin Paul Sunday and wife Patricia.
Anita was born in Frederick MD, in 1937, and graduated from Frederick High School. She graduated from Church Home Hospital School of Nursing, working there several years before moving to Franklin Square Hospital when they opened in Rosedale, staying there until 2004. She loved boating with her husband, family vacations to the Outer Banks, and especially enjoyed family dinners with her family, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends will gather at Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc., 9705 Belair Rd., Nottingham MD 21236, on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 9-11 a.m. A graveside service and interment will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 11:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Church Cemetery, 8420 Belair Rd., Baltimore MD 21236. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church, 8420 Belair Rd., Baltimore MD 21236.
