My Dad has always been my hero. From the time I was a little boy, he was the one I looked up to. He taught me many things. His words of wisdom have shaped my life and my core values.  I could never be who I am today without his guidance. Funny, if he heard me say that he'd probably say, "Hey, don't blame that on me!"

His sense of humor was amazing. His humility second to none and his willingness to listen, absorb and respond in a meaningful way, provided simplistic clarity.

I will miss you so much Pop, but I know in my heart that you are now where you're supposed to be. Thank you every single thing. I love you!

It seems surreal to be writing this. My cousin Sonny had such a presence...his smile, his sparkly eyes, his genuine concern, his sense of humor, his big heart, his loving way. It's hard to comprehend that he's left this earth but he left peacefully, surrounded by his family,  and that brings comfort to all of us. He was cared for and loved throughout his journey in a way that he so deserved, and I'm sure is so grateful for. I have nothing but respect and admiration for all of you. The way that you've handled yourselves over the last few years, and especially the last few weeks, is a tribute to him. I'm proud to be able to call you my family.
On Wednesday I'll celebrate his life too, and I'll be sure to wear "brightly colored clothes" in his honor. You will all be in my thoughts.

Our Nephew "Sonny" Lombardi's Ready Smile will be missed. He always had a beautiful smile and a wonderful sense of humor. To know him was to love him.
