Cynthia Denise Buckson, affectionately known as Cindy, was born on July 24th in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Mary and Robert Butler Sr. She peacefully departed this life on August 3, 2025, surrounded by love and cherished memories.
Cindy was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and a graduate of Lake Clifton High School. Shortly after completing her education, she began her professional journey at the Social Security Administration, where she served with dedication and care until her retirement.
A woman of deep faith, Cindy accepted Christ and was baptized at Southern Baptist Church. She found joy and purpose in music, blessing the congregation with her beautiful voice as a member of the choir. Singing wasn’t just something she did, it was who she was. Always ready with a tune, Cindy had a way of answering questions with a song, lighting up every room with her unique spirit.
Her warm presence and radiant personality made her unforgettable. Cindy had a heart as big as her smile. She was caring, generous, and full of life. She loved to be out and about, whether shopping, traveling, or simply enjoying a good conversation with a friend or stranger. Her energy was contagious, and her joy for life touched everyone she met.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved son Sheldon, and her sister Carolyn. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter in the hearts of those who knew her.
She is survived by her loving daughter Tieara; her brother Robert and sister Angela; her treasured grandchildren O’Shay, Elijah, and Leah; her nephew Craig (Rosetta); nieces Nichole and Carol; great-nieces Shawntrice, Nikayah, Ja’Niyah, and Ravin; great-nephew Martise; and her dear friend Michael, along with a host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Cindy's life was a melody: joyful, heartfelt, and unforgettable. Though her voice may be silent here on Earth, her song will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
