A gentle giant and godly man. Always faithful to show up and bring his very best to the table of life. He made everyone feel protected, cared for and special. He had a big heart, welcoming smile and a great sense of humor. We will miss you and never forget the example of Christ’s love and servant’s heart that you shared with us all.

Everyone needs a friend like Ed.  
Someone who always lends a hand, even if you don't ask.  Or who calls just to see how you are doing.  Someone who cares.
We've had incredible times together over the past four decades, and nothing could have prepared me for this loss.  I will miss the late nights on the pier, the advice you provided over the years,  our fishing trips, and all of the great times we shared.  You've been a brother to me my whole life, and I am so glad to have been part of your yours.  
God Bless Ed, Ron and Joe, and continue to watch over the Marsheck family during these times.

So shocked to hear of this news. Ed was a great person to be around. He was the first person to ever come up to me at church to greet me and make me feel comfortable being there. Ed was also the first guy from the church to come in for a haircut and became a long-standing customer. I thoroughly enjoyed being around Ed, especially during our time together playing softball for the church. You will truly be missed and certainly, never forgotten.

I loved seeing your big smile every Sunday morning as you pushed load-in carts and served on our security team. Whatever you were doing, you shared so much genuine warmth and joy with those of us around you. I see the legacy you began at our little church by generously bringing your full self and sharing all your gifts with the Lord and His family. I can't wait to see what God continues to do grow from everything you sowed into His work here in WhireMarsh/PerryHall... all the hearts changed and families saved! Thank you for inspiring me to sow generously into what lasts like you did. I am so thankful to have been able to know you and get to be family together. What an amazing day it will be to see you and your contagious smile in heaven soon.  We will miss you very much.

Stunned. I cannot adequately express with words what is running through my heart and mind.  Ed was simply a great guy. So many years, and memories.  Julie - I know there is nothing I can possible say that would actually mean anything, so I will say this ... Condolences from Jeff and I and it's been awhile, but ... here for you, always. 

We will always remember the friendliness and kindness Ed and Julie showed and welcomed our family when we joined Echo. What we saw in Ed is a spirit of service out of his love for God and people whether it's at church load-in team or the community event Movies in the Park. I thank God for him and will cherish the memories of worshiping and serving with him at Echo, sharing and praying with him in the small group and the fun playing with him on the softball field. Your family are in our thoughts and prayers.  Ed will be greatly missed!

I knew the Marshecks from growing up in Hamilton Presbyterian.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this time. May God give you  strength and comfort. 

I just loved watching smile on Ed’s face when he posted fish pictures.  I loved him sharing in Echo small groups.  He was always upbeat.  He is with the rest of the saints that fished for souls.  Jesus welcomed Ed with open arms and freed him from his horrible illness.  Will miss you Ed.

Our family is very thankful for the Marsheck family and we hold fond memories of Ed, especially the bond he had with my daughter Esther (3yo). Esther and I would always look forward to seeing him at the front door when we got to church. He would bend down and hold up a hand. In a deep, raspy bear voice he would say her name "Esther! Do you have a high five for me today?". Sometimes Esther would act shy and hide the smile he always brought to her face - I think that was part of the game. He would then tickle her or play peek-a-boo to get a glimpse of the smile. Because he was always offering a high five, I will remember his hard working hands; they remind me of cracked clay and it brings to mind Jeremiah 18 'the potter and the clay'. I will always cherish our conversations when we did load-in at the high school. A Godly man and a pillar of Echo. My love, sympathy, and prayers to the family.

Sadly this pic is from when we celebrated Ron’s life. Shows how much this group supports each other no matter the distance. We will always be there for your family Ed. 

I only knew Ed for short time, through his friend Doug.   We fished several times together and I really liked him a lot.  I was so sad to hear of his passing.  I wish I had known him longer, and gotten a chance to fish with him a few more times.  

Our family is heart broken over the lose of Ed! Both mike and I have different but such fun and happy memories with him. Mike liked unloading and loading with him before and after church. He was always in for a good laugh.  Not only was Ed such a great man to talk to and joke with he was a patient of mine when I was working in the dental office.  Always laughing, always kind and lending a helping hand. He will be missed! 

My Uncle Ed was always a blessing to be around. Always up for a game inside or out. I cherish the memories with him taking me to the sports memorabilia store and finding football cards, horseshoes at aunt Tammy's in Virginia. He was one of the most loving and hard working men I have had the pleasure of having in my life. He was an inspiration of how a man should be with his family. I love you Uncle Ed and miss you greatly.I know we will meet again.

Eddie was a very good friend and co worker. I never met someone who loved fishing has much has he did. I had the best times fishing with him. I always loved when he said here fishy fishy it gave us good luck sometimes. He used to get so mad at me when I caught the most fish and especially the biggest fish. Then on the ride home we joked about it. I’m going to miss him so so much and he will always always be in my heart for ever. LOVE YOU BIG EDDIE R.I.P. I will see you again my brother.

Ill always remember his smile and his jolly laugh. He was always just so easy to be around. A big kid. Playing kentucky rummy and nintendo 64. Some of my best memories of him always involved playing some kind of game or sport. Big time Chocolate cake and mountain dew lover. He was so inspiring through his battle, strong and high spirited. I only wish we could have spent more time in the end, but I know he is with us, at peace and always watching over.

Even though we didn’t see each other often, when we did it was always like no time has passed. Cannot believe we won’t play another hand together. You are truly loved and missed my friend.
