

Elaine Uchuck LaPasha was born on August 5, 1924. She grew up with her parents in Baltimore, Maryland. As an only child, she often helped her parents in their tailor shop. She graduated in only 3 years from the University of Maryland, majoring in Biology, and minoring in Teaching, History, and Mathematics and received a Masters from Johns Hopkins.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Constantine LaPasha. She was a devoted mother to Constantine LaPasha and his wife, Robin, and Daniel LaPasha and his wife, Laine; and a loving grandmother to Michael and David LaPasha. She is also survived by many other loving family and friends.
Elaine Uchuck LaPasha was a warm and loving wife, mother, Baba, and friend. She always had a laugh and a smile for anyone she came in contact with. She loved teaching and helping young people grow and learn, as well as working with her fellow teachers. She also loved to work in her garden at the shore and can fruits and vegetables.
For the last 10 years, she lived in North Carolina, moving to be closer to her family. When asked recently what the best day of her life was, she said, “Everyday is the best day because each day has something to look forward to.” Her proudest moment was when both her sons earned their PhD’s. She was one of the most positive and caring people, making everyone’s day a bit brighter and will be missed by her family and friends.
Relatives and friends may gather at the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church Sts. Peter & Paul Chapel at Cathedral Gardens, 6480 Elibank Dr., Elkridge, MD 21075 on Monday March 13, for a visitation at 10AM followed by a funeral service at 10:30 AM, with a graveside ceremony to follow.
