Jim Bishop passed away on October 7, 2025 at the age of 84 surrounded by his loving family in his home full of their memories. He is survived by his wife Angie, his oldest son Jimmy, his wife Lori, his daughter Julie, her husband Kevin, his youngest son Jeff, his wife Tammy, his five grandchildren Lindsey, Allison, Seth, Sydney and Madelynn and great grandson Maverick.
Jim and Angie met 67 years ago and have spent each and every one of those years building their life together surrounded by their family and friends. He and Angie shared many years together traveling, enjoying the cruise ship lifestyle and spent one week every year with their entire family on a beach vacation where many memories were made. His family was his life.
Jim graduated from Johns Hopkins with a degree in Engineering and accepted a job with Bethlehem Steel Sparrows Point where he worked for 40 years.
As a husband, he and Angie dedicated their lives to their children and grandchildren and he was fortunate enough to meet his first great grandchild.
As a father to his three children he juggled his time between them and his passion for fishing. Anyone who knew him would say that fishing may have trumped them. But instead, he brought them along to learn all of his skills, all of the best spots to fish on the flats and to share the joy of being outside in the calm of the waters.
As a grandfather of five, the running joke amongst them was always who he loved best. They would address themselves to him as his favorite and of course, he always agreed, regardless of who it was. The bond he had with them was certainly something special.
We hope you will join the family, not in sorrow for their loss, but to celebrate a life well lived.
Relatives and friends will gather at Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc., 9705 Belair Rd., Nottingham MD 21236, on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 2-5 p.m., with a Celebration of Life Service at 4:30 p.m.
