On December 19, 2023 Jerome A. Kahl entered God's presence after living an exemplary life, blessing his family and others who knew him. For at least the past five and a half years he bravely and fiercely, with much prayer and growth, dealt with an aggressive liver cancer. Since his diagnosis in 2018 until 2023, Jerry continued to be a faithful and hard worker in spite of many physical challenges due to the cancer. His work ethic was unparalleled as well as his dedication to providing for his family. It wasn't until just a few months ago the weakness that he battled with began to rapidly increase causing him to slow down drastically. But in those five and a half years God blessed him with four grandchildren - Asher, Beau, Alyssa, and Elliot - who gave him much pride and joy. He also got to see his sons Samuel and Joseph grow into men of great character as they developed into upstanding, responsible, hardworking, caring adults and family men - traits certainly mirroring their father's example. He felt very blessed that his sons married wonderful Christian women Jenna and Shannon. Jerry loved his mom and dad and brothers who greatly supported him during these difficult years especially. It allowed him to grow closer to each one of them. He took great comfort in the prayers and support of his wife's family as well. All along this difficult journey Jerry was putting things in order to make sure his wife Donna would be well taken care of. Jerry had a kind and quiet personality that was very attractive. He lived a quiet life trying to respect others and be at peace with everyone (Romans 12:18 "If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men"). Most importantly, Jerry was a Christian and desperately wanted his family and others to know about the salvation Jesus freely offers. His wife and mom were at his side in the comfort of his home when he was called back to his eternal home by God. Jerry is now perfectly healed in Heaven for eternity and would love to see his family and friends come to a saving relationship with Jesus as well (Acts 2:21 "for whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved"). Please join us as we share more memories of how Jerry was an incredible blessing and gift from God. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. We look forward to seeing him again one day.
