Heaven gained an angel with an infectious smile early in the morning on April 4, 2013. Justin Philip Tabor was taken from this Earth far too soon, but anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him will always treasure his memory. He was always caring and concerned about others; he gave his heart to us all. Sometimes if Justin was having a bad day, you wouldn’t even know it because his happy personality was what shined through. He kept everyone around him smiling at all times with his impish grin. He would say what was on his mind and do what he felt… this is how is how he rolled, and if you didn’t like it, you didn’t have to roll with him.
Justin loved pinecones. He loved to collect them and decorate them and give them to people as gifts, or display them proudly in his room. His dream was to become a Green Horn on the Deadliest Catch, and he always wanted to go on a trip on a big fishing boat. He loved the movie Titanic, and would watch it over and over and over again. He even sang, “My Heart Will Go On,” to his mom in the school talent show.
Justin is finally free to show everyone he meets in Heaven how smart, perceptive, and compassionate he truly is. His time on Earth was far too short for him to have the chance to show the world just how great he was; he didn’t get the chance to achieve all of his goals, or do all of the things he wanted to do, but his strong will and determination always kept him going through all of the challenges he faced. For those of us that remain here without him, his memory will live on through us each and every day… and every time we see a pinecone.
