Marie Edythe Cooper

Marie Edythe Cooper (nee Young), 93, of Parkville , MD passed away Monday, November 9, 2015 in her home. She was the wife of Frank E. Cooper and at the time of his passing in September 2014 they had shared 69 years of marriage. Marie Cooper was born on April 8, 1922 in Baltimore, MD. She was the daughter of the late John and Minerva Young . Marie and Frank were the last charter members of Christus Victor Lutheran Church, of Carney, MD. She worked as a nurse for Dr. Samuel Legum for several years. She also did bookkeeping at her husband’s business until they purchased Superior Sharpening where they worked and retired in 1986. She loved her beagles. She loved to go to the Beagle Club with Frank and listen to the dogs run. She is survived by her son Robert Cooper, and daughter-in-law Nadine Cooper, her two grandsons James and Michael of Airville, PA and her brother Ralph Harris and his wife Louise, and sister Marline Cashell and their families.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Schimunek Funeral Home Inc., 9705 Belair Rd. Nottingham, MD 21236 on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 3-5 and 6-8PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Christus Victor Lutheran Church, a viewing will be held prior to the service in church from 11AM-12PM. Interment will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Christus Victor Lutheran Church, 9833 Harford Rd. Parkville, MD 21234.
