Wilma had a cute laugh, a beautiful smile, the perfect pose for every photo and a joke for every occasion. She was a young spirit that never aged, just look at her beautiful black hair. When ask, "Why don't you have gray hair?" Wilma would respond with, "I don't worry about anything." Considering how hard her life was, it is hard to believe she didn't worry. She lost a baby brother and an older sister to illness and her boyfriend to World War II all before the age of 20. That would be enough to give anyone of us gray hair, but for Wilma maybe that was the turning point. Wilma seemed to focus her energy into her career and she was incredibly hard working. She worked all day at the Federal Reserve Bank and would often come home to her mother's house and work in the back yard garden all evening. The Koerner work ethic was strong in Wilma yet she also had a passion for socializing and having fun. Her ability to joke around with us as children made her more like a big sister than an aunt at times. Wilma often found time on the weekends to take us fishing, crabbing, picking blackberries or to the Little Beach for swimming in Cape St. Claire. For children that grew up in a row house in Baltimore City, those trips to the shore in addition to the annual Christmas Parties with her club at the Bank and the numerous bus and car sightseeing trips were a God send. I'm not sure Wilma knew how much her nieces and nephew appreciated that time. That's why, as a family, we are so pleased that her nephew, Ed is buying the shore home.
 
Wilma's impact on me personally was as a career woman and a fashionista. She defied the neighborhood culture of being married young and giving up personal ambitions for a career. She made her own money and lead her own life. A major part of her life was being at the height of fashion. With a Barbie doll figure and a Jackie Kennedy face to match, she was a knockout in everything she wore. Wilma had style and grace whether mingling at a social event or pulling weeds from the garden. I'm sure she is with the rest of her siblings and parents yet I want to thank Wilma for her patience and generosity with us along with her great love of life. We will miss her smile, her laugh and of course her jokes.

MY HUSBAND JOHN ROBUSTO INTRODUCED ME TO WILMA WHOM HE, LOVES DEARLY, IN 2006. WHAT A WONDERFUL WOMAN! I TOO CAME TO LOVE AND ADORE HERE INSTANTLY. WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS HOW PRECIOUS WILMA IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR HEARTS. SHE WAS AN INSPIRATION OF LOVE, KINDNESS, COMPASSION, WISDOM AND MORE.
