Antonio Teixeira Batista Was born on December 25, 1918, in Caldeira do Senhor Santo Cristo, São Jorge, Azores, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 27, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Antonio T. Batista, a long time resident of Novato, was preceded in death by his wife Serafina Ernestina Cabral Batista. He is survived by their nine children: Maria Ramos, Novato, Delminda Rodrigues, San Mateo, Honoria Pedro, Isabel Beirão and Serafina Carson, Napa, Fernanda Batista, Petaluma, Orlanda Savio, San Jose, Iva Batista, Benicia, and Valdemiro Batista of Valley Springs. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren, his brother Manuel Matos, Petaluma, and many nieces and nephews. Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, July 31, at 7:00 PM, Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church, Novato. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 1, 10:30 AM, also at Our Lady of Loretto. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael. Donations in his memory may be made to the IDESI (Our Lady of Fatima celebration) P.O. Box 2237 Novato, CA 94948.
