James H. Hill. December 30, 1924-July 10, 2013. James “Jimmy” H. Hill, a member of a Novato pioneer family, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 88 on Wednesday, July 10, 2013. A decorated Army Veteran, he served in Europe in WWII before returning home to help out in the family business. A lovingly devoted husband, father and grandfather, Jimmy is survived by his wife, Leta, of 58 years, his daughter, Debbie Lara, grandchildren, Schon and Lindsay Lara, and his faithful canine companion, ‘Dukey.’ A gathering of friends and family will be held at Keaton’s Redwood Chapel in Novato on Friday, July 19th beginning at 5pm with a ‘Celebration of Life’ to follow at 7pm. A burial with military honors will take place at Valley Memorial Park on Saturday, July 20th at 10:30a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice by the Bay.
