Anyone wishing to share memories about Marg will be invited to do so at the memorial service for her at 6:00 PM Friday, April 18, 2014 at Keaton's Redwood Chapel of Marin, 1801 Novato Blvd. in Novato. A tribute page for Marg may be found at www. KeatonsRedwoodChapel. com as well. From her childhood, she liked to spell her name "Marg", which she pronounced as though it was spelled Marge. She was a long time resident of the Bay Area, including the last 31 years in Novato. She was born in Edmonton Alberta, Canada on February 15, 1938 as Marjorie Ellen Farrell, and came to the U.S. with her parents and older sister Joan just after WW2. She was naturalized in San Francisco on April 14, 1959 as Marjorie Ellen Filcic with her first husband Tom Filcic's name. In 1961 the Soviets erected the Berlin wall. Tom was drafted and sent to Germany. His military service allowed them to travel all over Europe. They met and became friends with another soldier, Elvis Presley; one of her life's highlights. She studied at San Francisco City College, then she studied Fine Art at San Francisco State University. While there, her first marriage broke up. She met and later married her second husband, Jim Galbraith, at the First Unitarian Church in San Francisco. She worked at engineering drafting for various firms in San Francisco and the north bay area, including for five years with the City of Novato. She is survived by her husband Jim Galbraith, a sister Dorthy Ward in Victoria BC Canada, and a nephew Kenneth Fusselman in San Ramon. She will be fondly remembered and missed by all who knew her. Anyone wishing to make a gift is asked to make a contribution in Marg's name to Hospice by the Bay in Larkspur. Under the direction of Keaton's Redwood Chapel, Novato, CA 415-897-1151
