Vera Helen Young

Born on September 17, 1926 in Pocatello, ID, Vera passed away peacefully on December 15, 2016, after a very brief illness, Though 90, Vera lived an active and full life right up to the end. Vera was a Novato resident for the last 50 years. She retired in 1989 as an ATT telephone operator and directory assistant. She worked out of both the Terra Linda & Santa Rosa offices. Vera was a member of the Novato VFW Auxiliary. She served as treasurer & secretary for a number of years and happily cooked many holiday& monthly meals. After the Auxiliary closed she began going to the Novato Senior Center for socialization & was quick to make new friends. Vera loved to crochet and gave her beautiful creations to her family & friends. Vera genuinely loved and cared passionately for her fellow human beings & all animals. Preceded in death by her husband Daniel W. Young (1968) and by her only child, Daniel F. Young (1973). Vera will be greatly missed by her family & friends, as well as her poodle, Dolly.
