Dewayne Clayton Whitney Jr.

DeWayne “Bud” Whitney Jr., 72 of Burlington, Washington passed away Thursday July 4, 2013. He was born on October 20, 1940 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin to DeWayne and Dora Whitney. He graduated from Anacortes High School in 1959 and married his high school sweetheart , Julie Ferguson, in 1960. After he finished high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served for four years. He held numerous jobs but his favorite was working at the Mt. Vernon Chamber of Commerce from 2006 until his death.

He is survived by his brother, Robert (Denise) Whitney of Anacortes; a nephew, Aaron (Dianna) Whitney of LaConner; a niece, Kelly (Todd) Berlandi of Mt. Vernon and his loving companion of two and a half years, Patti Doddridge. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Julie.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday July 15, 2013 at the Burley Funeral Chapel in Oak Harbor. Those wishing to share memories with the family my do so at the memorial site for Bud at burleyfuneralchapel.com.
