

John Rangel Jr. entered into rest on Thursday, September 1, 2011 in Coupeville, WA. John was born May 18, 1954 at the Polly Harpole Maternity Home in Coupeville, WA to John and Lily Rangel. He leaves his Mom and Dad at the family residence, his brother, Charles and Mindy (his dog).
John graduated from Oak Harbor High School , Class of 1972. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Debra Sandberg for 32 years.
He was very successful in the Automotive Business starting as a detailer and ending as a Used Car Manager. He worked for many different dealers throughout the Island and Skagit area. In 1996 he opened his own business, “John’s Light Tractor Work” and was well known on the Island for his heavy equipment and bobcat skills. Once again he proved himself to be a hard working and successful man.
John possessed many talents. His interests were in story telling, fishing, motorcycles, RCC Airplanes, boats, and all types of heavy equipment. John lived his life to the fullest. He fought a hard eight month battle against leukemia. John will be missed by all who knew him as he brought a lot of sunshine into their lives.
Funeral services for John were held September 7, 2011 at Burley Funeral Chapel with burial at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel where friends may go online at www.burleyfuneralchapel.com to sign a guest book and leave memories for the family. In memory of John, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
