She was born on May 3, 1944 in Concord, Michigan to Barbara Butters and Don Scranton.
Elizabeth Ann was a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker who was known for her love, understanding, generosity, intelligence, gardening, and love for reading books. She was the valedictorian at Farragut High School in June of 1962, and later on got her associates degree in Forestry at Morraine Valley community college.
She is survived by her sons Richard, Christopher (Janet), Jeremy (Laura), her grandchildren Sarah, Kae, Max, Hannah, and her brother John. She was preceded in death by her parents Barbara and Norman, her husband Richard, her son Matthew Gus, and sisters Ruth and Johanna.
A visitation for Elizabeth will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 South Central Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. A chapel service will occur Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 11333 South Central Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. A burial will occur Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home & Cemetery, 11333 S Central Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453.
