Enrique Velez, age 83, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024. Beloved Husband of the late Ivery, nee Duncan, for a loving 37 years. She was the love of his life from the age of 22. Devoted Father of 3 girls and 5 boys: Edna, James, Tony, the late Dwight, Enrique, Maria, Arma, and Antoine. Dear Son of the late Enrique and Rosa, nee Navarro. Loving Brother of the late Carmen, Israel, Maria, and Santos; and Rosaluz, Edwin, Alba, Eileen, and Gladys. Enrique leaves a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews to mourn his loss and carry on his legacy.
A Visitation for Enrique will take place Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 S. Central Ave. Oak Lawn, IL 60453, with a Chapel Service to take place at 5:30 PM. A Repast will follow the service at 7:00 PM at Fountain Hills Golf Club, 12601 Kedzie Ave. Alsip, IL 60803. Funeral to continue Friday, January 10, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church (St. Bede & St. Denis Parish), 8200 S. Kostner Ave. Chicago, IL 60653, for a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow at Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery, 11333 S. Central Ave. Oak Lawn, IL 60453.
