James Walter Bailey, age 93, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Monday June 23, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Violet M. Patterson (married 1984-2024) and the late Joyce Monette (married 1955-1983). Retired public school principal and teacher. Father of son James R. Bailey (David Lezondra) and step-father to Rachel (Tony) Johnston and Stephen (Annette Martinez) Patterson. Proud grandfather to Abigail, Eleanor, Jacob, Luke, Catherine and the late Elizabeth. Brother of the late Jean (Bob) Bregi and brother-in-law to Mary Sorenson and the late Paul Sorenson. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday July 2, 2025 from 3:30pm until 7:00pm followed by a chapel service beginning at 7:00pm at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 South Central Avenue, Oak Lawn, Illinois.
