Olga Lake, 93, of Sun City, Arizona, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 16, 2024. Born on November 11, 1930, she was the daughter of Stephen and Frances (Pengrin) Chura. One of five children, she is survived by sister Jeanne (George) Indendi. Widowed young (Walter T. Hynes, d. 1953), Olga raised her family in Chicago with her beloved husband, Sheely J. Lake (d. 1978). She later retired in Sun City, Arizona with close friend, Henry Kolbus (d. 1994) Her greatest joys in life were family, baking, dancing the polka, playing cards, sewing, stained glass, gardening and visiting the casinos.
Dearly loved, Olga will be missed by her children, Cindi (Kurt) Schramer of Ohio, Suzie (Klaud) Miller of Illinois, Keith (Josan) Lake of Florida, Jennifer (Randy) Wisowaty of Illinois, and Dawn (Barb) Lindon-Lake of Arizona, grandchildren, Alyssa (David) Lew, Lauren (Keith) Harris and Kyle Schramer, Andrea (Matt) Raney, Kari (Chris) Jensen and Brad (Deanna) Wisowaty, Jenna (Mat) Becker and Dana Lake, Jake (Braelyn) Krischke, Sydney Lindon-Lake and Allie Lindon-Lake, great grandchildren, Easton, Delaney, Ellery, Kent, June, Stone, Jude, Hero, Jackson, Sully, Lola, Jase and Josilyn.
Friends and family will gather for a visitation for Olga that will be held on Monday, March 25th, 2024 at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 8410 131st Street, Palos Park, Illinois from 9:00am until 10:00am, with a funeral service to immediately follow beginning at 10:00am. Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery, 11500 South Fairfield Avenue, Chicago, Illinois.
