Robert W. Bermel was born on November 22, 1951 and passed away on August 11, 2025. A dedicated educator, loving family member, lifelong student of history, and lover of animals-Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved siblings, Gregory (Nancy) Bermel and Gayle (the late Harv) Wagley; his nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Robert was born in Chicago and spent his career as an educator with the Chicago Public Schools, where he touched the lives of countless students. A true history buff, he had a particular interest in Civil War history, which he pursued with deep curiosity and knowledge throughout his life.
Robert's memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and former students whose lives he enriched with his wisdom, kindness, and quiet dedication. Services are private at this time.
