Athanasia Assimakopoulos (nee Daskalopoulou), age 91, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2022. Beloved wife of the later Peter Assimakopoulos; loving mother of Helen (the late Paul) Horemiotes and Georgia (Jim) Sakkos; cherished yiayia of Celia Horemiotes, Anastasia, and Peter Sakkos; dearest sister of Efthimia, Nick and the late Stathi, Angelo, Vasili and Nick; fond sister-in-law of George (Danae), Theoni (the late Chris) and the late Gus (Athanasia) and the late John (Maria); Aunt, cousin, and friend to many. May her memory be eternal.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 14th from 10 AM- 10:30 AM at Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, 2501 S Wolf Rd, Westchester, IL 60154, where a 10:30 AM Service will follow. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery.
