You probably know that I, Christian Rubio-Manaloto, a.k.a. T.M.B.L.R. (ask Paul or Derkie), a.k.a. Christian The Great, joined the Lord peacefully at 12:05 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2020.
I was born at 2:26 a.m. Wednesday, January 7, 1970 at Santos General Hospital in Butuan City, Philippines. I had a good life as a child. My parents, Andres and Catalina, had five children: Bobby, Mary Grace, Andrew, me, and Derkie. While growing up, Andrew, Derkie, and I were best of friends; they were my world.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in March of 1990. I subsequently traveled to the United States to find opportunity and to learn firsthand if everything I was taught about America was true. Andrew was already there, so I knew he would protect me. Living in America at the age of 24 was fun. The good times were amplified when my two besties, Josephine (a.k.a. Epin) and Pedro, joined me. Good friends continued to enter my life and refined my values.
I met Paul in 1998 and my world forever changed. Paul showered me with love that I never knew existed. Jack, Bear and Sebastian completed the Manaloto household and were the rawest expression of selfless love. While I may have left this world a little too soon, I have absolutely zero regrets. I was born into love and left this world loved. I learned that life is not about the destination or the journey. Life is about the company.
