

He was born February 7th, 1935 to parents Frank P. and Phyllis (Treflik) Petrik in Oak Park Illinois. He was a quiet man, but always stable- a steady presence others could rely on. He didn’t seek attention or praise; instead, he showed his love through consistency, patience, and being there when it mattered most. His calm strength brought comfort and reassurance to those around him.
Frank enjoyed watching sports, vegetable gardening, hanging around the house with family, and spent countless hours on the back deck. His life was defined not by loud words, but by quiet dependability and unwavering support.
He is survived by his children Frank (Shelby) Petrik, Kathy (Gary) Hanzel, Kent (Peggy) Petrik, and Jill (Ron) Magnetta. His grandchildren Keith (Michelle), Frank (Allysha), Britney, Alyssa (Matt), Jessica, Bradley (Haley-Joy), Joe. His seven great grandchildren as well as sister-in-laws Pat (Dypold) and Lanis (Petrik).
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Arline and his brother Tom.
Though he may have spoken softly, his impact was strong and lasting. His steadiness will continue to guide and comfort those who loved him.
A visitation will be held at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, located at 17w201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace, IL, 60181, United States, on January 5, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm with a chapel service to follow.
The graveside service will take place at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery, 17W201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace, IL, 60181, United States, on January 5, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
