

Richard M. (“Dick”) Frazier, 87, of Oak Brook, formerly of Wheaton, passed away at his home on January 26, 2016. Beloved husband of 65 years to Marion; Cherished father of Susan Nordine and Patricia (David Herring) Frazier; Proud grandfather “Papa” of Kirsten Nordine, Kendall (Adam) Shambeau, Kelsey Nordine, Collin Nordine and Julia Herring; Great grandfather of Oliver and Henry Shambeau; Brother-in-law of Bert Gustafson and Joanne Gustafson; Uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Dick was born in Oak Park, IL in 1928. He graduated from Oak Park High School and then from the Missouri School of Mines (now University of Missouri-Rolla) with a degree in Metallurgy. He and Marion were married in January 1951 in Winthrop, MN, and he then served in the Korean War in Japan. Soon after returning from Japan, he began working at Hickman-Williams where he remained for the rest of his career, retiring as Chairman of the Board.
Dick was involved in many charitable and community activities. He was particularly active in fundraising for Central DuPage Hospital.
He was a generous man who loved to help other people. He will be missed by many friends, family members, and colleagues.
A visitation will be held at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17w201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace, Friday, January 29th, from 4-8 PM. A service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 11 AM. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens West.
