Sophie K. Berowski (nee Kalakis) age 89, long time resident of Brookfield, II since 1958 and formerly of Chicago, IL passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at La Grange Hospital. Sophie was born on January 16, 1932, to her loving parents Nick and Helen Kalakis. Cherished wife of the late Edwin A. Berowski and beloved mother to her only child Camille A. Berowski Snyder (Ronald). Preceded in death by her sisters Katherine Notto (nee Kalakis) and Mary McBlaine (Kalakis).
Sophie spent nearly 30 years working for the First National Bank of Brookfield. She was a Bank Teller before promoted to Administrative Assistant to the President of the Bank. Sophie will be fondly remembered for her dedicated service as a bank employee. She enjoyed her work and the relationships she made with many while working for the Bank. Her passion was reading, cooking, traveling and the compassion to learn new things from her lap top computer. She found joy attending outdoor concerts performed by Tommy Makem and the Makem Brothers. But most importantly, she loved to care for her family and kitty Oliver.
