Susan Jean Martellotta

Sue was born on January 21, 1957 in Evergreen Park, IL, the daughter of Ernest and Lucille Koglin and sister of Karen (Carter). Sue grew up in Carpentersville, IL with many fond memories of the neighborhood. She graduated from Dundee Crown High School in 1975.

Sue married Daniel Martellotta on October 2, 2004 in Villa Park. They were married for 21 happy years, creating a beautiful home together.

Sue was a devoted and loving mother to her daughter, Yvonne Blais.

Sue loved her family more than anything and was known to spoil her nieces, nephews, and great-niece and nephew.

Sue loved spending time with her family; including travels to Hayward WI, a beloved family tradition.

Sue was always there for those who needed her and cherished her lifelong friendships. She was known for her quick wit, humor, and loyalty.

Sue dedicated her life to public service and retired from working at NEDSRA as an Executive Assistant to Director in 2023 after working there for 15 years.

Sue was an artist at heart. She painted and created beauty wherever she was inspired.

Sue is survived by her loving husband, Dan; her daughter, Yvonne Blais; her sister, Karen (Rob) Carter; and her brother-in laws Michael (Emily) Martellotta and John (Kim) Martellotta. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Hannah (James) Tufexis, Luke (Caitlin) Carter, Emma (Kyle) Florian, Gianna Martellotta, Dominic Martellotta, Vincent Martellotta, Ava Martellotta, Isabella Martellotta; and great nephew Everett Tufexis and great niece Iris Tufexis.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Lucille Koglin, and her son Nicholas Blais.

Sue will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, located at 17w201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace, IL, 60181, on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, where a Funeral Service will take place at 6:00 pm.
