As some requested it, a younger photo and some photos when in the army.

Just found out that Tom passed in April.  My wife and I were rehashing old memories tonight and did a search, where we found the sad news. We both worked for Tom at Sweet Peppers and were reminiscing about what a great time that was, and how fortunate we were to have worked for such a great man.  Tom treated us all as family, we would always do our best to support him and the restaurant as if it were our own, because he made us feel like it was.  We have so many great memories.  St. Pat's day with the bagpipers, Christmas Eve dressing up as Santa, coming in after Thanksgiving dinner to decorate for Christmas, Cubs playoffs, Sunday brunches when the Bears were winning, and so many oth er to list.  Tom, you left us with so many great memories. We are so happy that we had you in our life. Rest In Peace, until we meet again.

I thought this year, in lazy walks or grocery shopping or talking about books, or gardening, but it isn't to be, I guess, what I thought and assumed, was a person with much to contribute to me and his family and to me for many years to come. In some ways a shock., but because of age, we should be prepared. I miss you for Fathers Day and Christmas, and many more things, I wish I was a better person and had a better life for you to be proud of, while you were alive. I regret that.

As his daughter from his 29 year marriage with my mother Karen, I have many memories uncounted  to share. His wife and Mother Yia Yia (Anna Alexandra) contributed their inheritances and earnings because they believed in him, to start up a family business. There were many ups and downs as the restaurant business, is not an easy one. My favorite memories, were of inexpensive family vacations at my mothers aunts cabin by a lake in Wisconsin, and places like the Wisconsin Dells. Though I am only half Greek, it was fascinating to hear of stories and histories, myths and philosophers and cuisines of the place.  He had a fascinating life of many chapters, countries, and people.

I knew Tom for 34 years.  I have endless memories of him.  He was a very humble man with a wicked sense of humor.  Tom would give the shirt off his back to help the people close to him.  Even after his divorce from his wife, he was always concerned about her well-being.  Peter's untimely death last year took a huge toll on him.  No parent should have their child precede them in death.  My heart goes out to his family.  Goodbye Tom.  I will miss you dearly.
