

Anastasios (Tom) Zervakis age 87 of Glen Ellyn, originally of Kalamata Greece. Much loved son of late Andreas and Anna (Coumoundouros) Zervakis. Loving father of Anna, Jennifer, John, and the late Pete, and much missed ex-husband of Karen. Loving brother of Errikos (Toula) Zervakis. Devoted grandfather of Alex, Jackie, Penelope, and Audrey. Beloved cousin of Panagiotis (Penelope), Tassos (Harriette), Andreas, Christine (Dennis), Andrea (Bob), and Jim. Much loved uncle of Andrew, Mary Ann, Steven, Sandra, and Peter.
Tom was a long-time restaurateur of the Chicagoland area. After serving in the Greek and US Army he moved to Chicago and gained experience in such establishments as the Drake Hotel. He owned and managed restaurants such as the Starlyn restaurant in Chicago, Alfie’s Inn for some time with his brother in Glen Ellyn, The Hamlet in Carol Stream, Sweet Peppers in Villa Park, La Fleurette (same location), and Walker’s Charhouse in Naperville. He had an appreciation of life and fine dining and loved to share that with others, making friends wherever he went. He had a keen mind and enjoyed conversations on world affairs, politics, and history. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to PBS or a blood donation to the Red Cross is appreciated.
