Elaine Mae Tees

Elaine Mae (Sease) Tees was born February 6, 1934 in Jamestown, North Dakota. She passed from this life on November 29, 2022 at the age of 88 years. She was a resident of Cedar Valley, California since 1977 and resided for most of 2022 with her daughter in North Fork, California.

Elaine was the youngest child of Vernon and Erma (Brumm) Sease. She grew up in Jamestown and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1952. She married in 1953 and had a daughter, Lesley. The family lived in various places around the United States and outside of it. The two years they spent living on the island of Trinidad in the West Indies, Elaine said, were the time in her life she would do over again if she could.

For many years, Lesley and her family also lived in Cedar Valley and Elaine’s grandchildren have many wonderful memories of time spent at “Gramm’s house.” Elaine worked at The Narrow Gauge Inn near Fish Camp for 25 years as a housekeeper and gardener. She valued her time there very highly. Everywhere she went, she connected with others through love and humor.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Erma (Brumm) Sease, her brother Donald Sease, and her sister Betty (Sease) Collins. She is survived by her daughter Lesley Bowman and grandchildren Bryant and Hilary (Casner). Elaine is also survived by her chosen family, among them her son-in-law Lance, Hilary’s husband Matthew, and Matthew’s immediate and extended family.

A celebration of life for Elaine will be held on a future date.
