Pauline Papay was born in Nevada, Iowa. Unfortunately her mother, Jennie Edith (Atkins) Rambo Corson, passed away shortly after her birth. Her father was Paul Richard Corson. She had three older brothers, Andy, Carroll and Donald. Paul Corson remarried in 1936 to Alma Pearl Corson, a widower who had two children of her own. Pauline moved from Iowa to Colorado, and then to Sherman Oaks, California. During Pauline’s teenage years, she lived with her brother and sister-in-law, Carroll and Marie Corson, and then worked as a live-in housekeeper/driver/caregiver, for a well-known Hollywood producer, Mr. Hunter. She attended Glendale Adventist Academy where she met her future husband, Andrew Charles Papay. They were married on July 4, 1946 in Yuma, Arizona.
Pauline worked in the medical field in hospitals, and private practice back office and eventually becoming an X-ray technician. Pauline’s family was always very important to her. She loved family holidays and traveling to Hawaii, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Alaska.
Pauline’s husband (Chuck, December 25, 1928 to January 14, 1995) passed away after 48 years of marriage. Pauline is survived by two sons, Joel (Colleen), Douglas (Debbie), and daughter Sherilyn. Pauline has five grandchildren, Scott, Heather, Meshelle, Nicole, and Marcus, as well as five great grandchildren, Brandon, Alex, Caylee, Dylan and Ayla.
Her long and full life will be celebrated at the Palm Memorial Sierra Chapel in Oakhurst, and laid to rest in the Oakhurst Oakhill Cemetery, next to her husband on September 29, 2023
Pauline passed away peacefully accompanied by loved ones on August 19, 2023.
