A Public Viewing will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Funeral services will occur Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM, immediately following, the burial will be at Rolling Hills Memorial Park, 4100 Hilltop Dr, Richmond, CA.
Ms. Betty Jean was one of 9 children born to Mary and Johnnie Botley Sr. She accepted Christ and was baptized at the family church in Oakland, Ca.
She received her formal education from the Oakland Public School District, graduating from McClymond High School. She worked for the City of Oakland Parks and Recreation as a manager for four years, that she worked at a printing company for several years.
She later met and married Mr. Lynn Rix and to this union they were blessed with 3 beautiful children. She left the work field to become a homemaker to spend more quality time with her family. She enjoyed cooking and dancing at family gatherings.
She leave to cherish precious memories, her children, Anthony Brown, Lynnette and Mary Rix. Six grandchildren, siblings Rebecca Reynolds, Brenda Harvey, Johnnie Pearl Marcus, Mary Botley, Robert Botley, Johnnie Botley, Jr. and Debra Botley: and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
