After a long illness Betty passed away at home on March 2, 2017. Betty was born on December 13, 1937 in Rochester, NY; to Lewis and Rita Cotter. She is survived by a sister June and a brother John, her loving husband of sixty years, Joe; her children Barbara Westmiller and Joe Vaccaro & Daughter–in-law Tina; her grandchildren, Shannon, Lisa, Bryan, Tom, Joey & wife Angel; and great grandchildren Kendall and Gideon.
Betty was a dance instructor for more than 45 years and taught tap, ballet, jazz and baton to thousands of children and adults in both NY and FL. Even in retirement she continued to share her passion with the men and women of Stonecrest by offering dance and baton classes.
Betty had been an active resident of Stonecrest since 2000. She and her husband enjoyed golfing, cruising, playing cards and excessively decorating for every holiday! Most of all she enjoyed her friends, family and those friends that became family.
