Daniel Leslie Neisler

Celebration of Life services for Daniel “Dan” Neisler, 91 of Jacksonville, AL will be Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Ford officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the Funeral Chapel. Mr. Neisler passed away November 10, 2014 in Anniston, Alabama.

Survivors include his wife Millie Neisler of Jacksonville, Alabama his daughter Nancy Childers of Houston, Texas, his son David Neisler (Merry) of Jacksonville, five grandchildren Allen Neisler, Elizabeth Neisler, Katie Neisler, Laura Esselman and Nathan Esselman and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Neisler is preceded in death by his parents John and Barbara Neisler, granddaughter Caroline Neisler, brothers Edgar “Red” Neisler and John “JW” Neisler Jr. and a sister Virginia Cox.

Mr. Neisler was a native of Ocala, Florida and a resident of Calhoun County, Alabama for the past 10 years. He graduated Ocala High School in 1941, then joined the US Navy serving mainly in the South Pacific as a Pharmacist Mate, being Honorably discharged in 1947. He attended and graduated Stetson University in 1951 and taking his first job with William S. Merrell Company. He retired in 1987 from Dow Chemical Company receiving 12 Presidential Awards. He was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville. He was involved with Meals on Wheels of Jacksonville for five years.
