Delia E. Calderwood, age 93, of The Villages Florida passed away December 27, 2012. She was born on June 11, 1919 in Gate City, VA a daughter to the late Lloyd and Edna Smith. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband David, and a sister Virginia Jackson. She was a member of the Chapel of Christian Faith Church in The Villages and enjoyed the Women’s Bible Study at the church for many years. She is survived by three sons, James Merkle of Summerfield, FL, , Ronald Merkle of MD, and Roger Merkle, of Oviedo, FL a daughter Dorothy Shelton of Winter Park, FL,, brother Vivian Smith, sister Margie Keppler, six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. The funeral has been scheduled for Wednesday January 9, 2013 at 1:00pm at Huntt Funeral Home, Waldorf, MD, with visitation from 11:00am-1:00pm prior to the service. The family has suggested donations in Delia’s name to Cornerstone Hospice in The Villages.
