Gerry Brent Howard

Gerry Brent Howard, 73, passed away on January 30, 2017. He was born in Lafayette, IN. He served in the US Air Force and attended Purdue University. He worked for the Lafayette, IN fire department for four years before joining the Lafayette, IN police department where he retired as Deputy Chief of Police 23 years later. He moved to Ocala, FL with his wife, Margery, where they both enjoyed being pilots in the aviation community. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic church, Fraternal Order of Police, AARL, AOPA, Blue Knights, NAFI, American Legion, EAA, NRA, and Central FL Musicians Association.

He is survived by his wife Margery; children Laura (husband, Jeff), Brent (wife, Sheryl) and Craig (wife, Heide), 7 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren, two sisters Shirley Griffith, and Sandra Denhardt (husband, Phillip) all of Indiana. He is also survived by his beloved beagle, Samantha Lynn.

Funeral services will be held at noon, Saturday February 4th, 2017 at St. Theresa Catholic Church Belleview, FL. Interment immediately following at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens 5740 South Pine Avenue, Ocala, FL 34480. In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to St. Theresa Catholic Church, The Humane Society, or Tippecanoe County FOP Arman Lodge 49.
